Dementia Care Connections offers support services to family caregivers and care professionals by providing education, consultations, in-home activity visits, virtual visits, training, and care resources needed to improve and maintain the quality of life for individuals living with memory impairment and dementia. Our approach focuses on cognitive engagement, promoting social interactions, advocating for a loved one's care, and empowering families so they can make the best choices.

Nicole McMonigle Knight, CDP

Nicole has over 20 years of experience in healthcare, primarily in the field of aging. She has worked in pharmacy care, hospice care, and completed a field study in physical therapy before transitioning to dementia care in a
memory care community setting. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and trained in BCAT®. Nicole is a memory
cafe facilitator, support group facilitator for the Alzheimer's Association, Community Ambassador for Fairfax Area Agency on Aging 50+ program, Senior Ambassador for Senior Services of Alexandria, Dementia Champion, and on the action teams for Dementia Friendly Herndon and Dementia Friendly Alexandria. Nicole finds joy in travel, art galleries, museums, Virginia Tech football, outdoor adventures with her husband, and daily walks with her mostly well-behaved cockapoo.
